West Creek 5 (12075), United States of America, Richmond, Virginia Director, Software Engineering (Commercial Bank Sales & Service) As a Capital One Director of Software Engineering, you'll lead a team working on a variety of software platforms including Salesforce, AWS Connect, and design technology solutions with open source frameworks, RESTful microservices, and back-end Java and streaming services. You will work in an Agile environment, partnering with our Product and Technology associates to deliver valuable engineering solutions for our associates as they work with our clients throughout their lifecycle from prospect identification to client servicing. You will be a leader in a horizontal engineering team responsible for building platforms and common capabilities used by our associates and clients in all of our Commercial Bank lines of businesses. In this role, you will: - Lead, manage and grow multiple teams of product-focused software engineers - Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team. - Work with product managers to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios - Continuously improve software engineering practices - Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack development tools and technologies - Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions - Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community - Encourage innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity - Work across the organization to improve the velocity of your and other teams - Lead efforts to deploy new and existing applications into AWS environments - Break existing monolithic applications into micro service architectures and build new microservices Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor s Degree - At least 7 years experience in software development - At least 5 years experience in people management - At least 3 year s multiple leading engineering teams Preferred Qualifications: - Master s Degree - 10 years of experience in software development - 5 years of experience in Agile practices - 3 years experience with Salesforce - 1 year of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud) - 1 year of experience with cloud-based telephony solutions Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
