At the Boeing site in Herndon, Virginia, our engineers design, build, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers. For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated team member for our Systems Engineering Capability to support proprietary programs being performed for US government customers who are responsible for exciting national security missions. As a Senior Reliability Systems Engineer you would provide vital mission assurance support for advanced systems on several proprietary programs. The Reliability Engineer will perform system reliability, safety, and hazard analyses to assure mission success. The Maritime UnderseaIntegrated Missions portfolio for which these programs are a part, include teams in Huntington Beach CA. This position may provide the occasional opportunity to travel to the Huntington Beach facility to accomplish knowledge transfer and collaboration with the technical team there. If you are an experienced, energetic Reliability Systems Engineer with good communication skills (oral and written) with a desire to work in a dynamic environment with a broad range of engineers from many skill areas, we are looking for you. Primary Responsibilities: Maintain Program Reliability and Maintainability Plans Produce Subsystem Hazard Reports including mitigation recommendations Generate Inspection and Analysis reports associated with system reliability, safety, and availability Providing Environmental Stress Screening profile recommendations Chairing Failure Review Board (RFB) meetings for investigation of repetitive or safety related failures Generating Inspection & Analysis reports associated with safety, reliability & availability Defines maintenance actions, MTBFs This position requires an active US Top Secret/ SCI Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. (A US Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active) Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience): Experience developing and maintaining system reliability and availability models Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience): Experience organizing and participating in Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings for investigation of repetitive or safety related failures Experience providing Environmental Stress Screening profile recommendations Experience performing hazard analysis and generating related reports Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (eg Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (eg PhD4 years' related work experience, Master7 years' related work experience ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: This position offers relocation based upon candidate eligibility. Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.
