Master of Health Administration (MHA) Online Coordinator

The George Mason University, Department of Health Administration and Policy (HAP) in the College of Health and Human Services is seeking a Faculty Coordinator for the online CAHME accredited MHA program. About the Position:

This Term Faculty position will serve as the Online Program Coordinator for the Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program in Health systems Management and will serve as teaching faculty in the Department of Health Administration and Policy, teaching courses consistent with their background/expertise across HAP's Health Systems management programs (BS through PhD). All HAP faculty teach across the graduate and undergraduate curriculum with varied responsibilities including but not limited to teaching, research and securing external funding, curriculum and dissertation guidance, student advisement, university and community service.

Because our faculty is composed of scholars from many academic and professional disciplines, and because we collaborate with faculty throughout George Mason University, we are especially interested in bringing in a colleague whose work can transcend disciplinary boundaries. The appointment is a full-time (12-month) teaching intensive position that will begin as soon as hired in 2021.

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the MHA Program Director, the Program Coordinator will have responsibility for student onboarding and student advising (professional and academic advising);
  • Responsible for the development, interpretation and analyzation of various program related reports (such as student attrition, new admits and graduates etc.);
  • Serves as liaison and online teaching resource to adjunct faculty;
  • Serves as liaison with vendors and members of various healthcare related organizations and other professional entities;
  • Responsible for program growth and cross collaboration with various internal departments and/or key personnel, such as the academic success coach.


Required Qualifications

  • Graduate degree with professional certification and experience or an earned Doctorate in a discipline related to Health Systems Management;
  • Academic program teaching experience (on-line and traditional formats);
  • Experience in course development and/or course revision, that adheres to program goals and accreditation competencies and standards;
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and experience in relevant to managing program implementation;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and think critically;
  • Ability to adjust to a rapidly changing environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Academic teaching experience;
  • Background and experience working in health service organizations;
  • Experience managing programs that service the health care industry.
