Job Summary/Company:

Sparks Group has teamed up with a real estate and construction client, and in search of a driven Payroll Manager. They will be responsible for managing payroll operations, with support of HR functions including personnel file management, onboarding and offboarding. They will also be responsible for resolving all payroll issues and recommend corrective actions. The ideal candidate will have previous payroll processing and benefits administration experience and familiarity using Intuit. Responsibilities:
  • Manage all phases of the payroll process from timesheet collection, review, and change management prior to transmitting payroll
  • Prepare and process payroll operations for 200+ employees, including processes, compliance, and tax specifications
  • Analyze and enter all payroll information including wage changes, commissions and deductions and garnishments
  • Prepare and maintain the general ledger and sub ledgers related to accounts payable
  • Generate and compile various payroll reports to include monthly, quarterly, year-end, and ad-hoc reporting
  • Maintain all HR records, employee files, and documentation while adhering to policies and compliance
  • Handle new hire processing/termination documentation, running background checks and conducting new hire benefits orientation
  • Compile information needed for insurance audits; implement new payroll/time entry software as needed
  • Audit employee files and investigate discrepancies
  • Perform other assigned duties and tasks

Qualifications/Background Profile:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive technical payroll processing and HR experience
  • Prior experience using Intuit assisted Payroll
  • Knowledge of wage laws and requirements; tax filings procedures and benefits principles
  • Additional HR experience with handling 1095s, OSHA requirements, Insurance claims, and EEOC filings
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is desired
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools; intermediate Excel knowledge and skills
  • Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills with the ability to interact and support the staff and management effectively
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure on tight deadlines
  • Results oriented, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
