Senior Analyst - Stress Testing Analytics

The Senior Analyst is a key role within the Stress Testing team. The Stress Testing Analytics team is responsible for understanding the resilience of the company in a myriad of base and stressed economic environments. The role provides exposure to, and requires interaction with, a wide range of business, risk, and finance teams across Capital One to ensure grounded and accurate stress testing inputs, outputs, and projections of earnings and capital. Strong multitasking skills, being well versed in spreadsheet and presentation applications, and the ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form to various levels within the organization are essential.

The role requires strong problem solving, communication, critical thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:

  • Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights
  • Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior audiences


Responsibilities:

  • Assess and review analytical assumptions underpinning stress test results
  • Develop, analyze, and report financial projections for multiple businesses under varying economic conditions
  • Communicate findings in a manner that influences appropriate consideration or change
  • Coordinate and collect input data from different departments, check data integrity, summarize and communicate resulting key take-aways to management
  • Business presentations: Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences, clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams in Google slides
  • When appropriate, present analysis in formal committee meetings, including Stress Testing Governance Committee (STGC) and Capital Management Committee (CMC)
  • Enhance automation of reporting, including developing enhanced reporting capabilities via Tableau
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests and special projects
  • Independently manage and prioritize workload


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience within a financial institution
  • At least 1 year of experience with financial modeling
  • At least 1 year of experience with Google sheets, Excel, Powerpoint, and Tableau


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of experience in stress testing or at least 1 year of experience in corporate planning at a financial institution
  • At least 1 year of experience with the Python programming language
  • At least 1 year of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) reporting tools
