Summary

The Office of Human Resources (OHR) SEC University is looking for a new learning specialist to join their team in the College of Securities & Investor Protection. If selected, you will assess training needs of, design and develop training materials, courses and programs for; and evaluate training programs of a wide variety of financial regulatory employees (e.g., attorneys, accountants, economists, paralegals and other business professionals.)

Responsibilities

  • Uses consulting skills to work with offices to assess their learning needs.
  • Delivers briefings and speaks at staff meetings on behalf of the SEC.
  • Develops curriculum and training for selected offices based on their training needs.
  • Procures federal training programs relevant to the training needs of assigned offices.
  • Determines the need for and develops organizational and curriculum changes and improvement.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

SK-12: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-11 level. Specialized experience includes all of the following:
  • Managing training programs; AND
  • Assessing and addressing training needs of an office with a diverse employee makeup; AND
  • Designing and developing a variety of training materials.
  • SK-13: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-12 level. Specialized experience includes all of the following:
  • Developing curriculum and managing training programs; AND
  • Assessing and addressing training needs of an office with a diverse employee makeup; AND
  • Defining and deploying required developmental tools needed to meet identified needs.

    You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
