Job Summary

As part of the team, this Network Administrator role will examine the day-by-day performance of the organization’s network, including the hardware and software, and ensure that its data is properly backed up. This role will also configure, install, and troubleshoot network hardware and software.

Required Qualifications:
  • Possesses an Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • COMPTIA Security + CE
  • Demonstrated Network Administration experience, to include configuring routers (from small network devices to enterprise level), load balancers, and other network devices
  • Detailed understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP fundamentals, and networking (LAN/WAN) design principles
  • Working knowledge of routers and switches
  • Detailed understanding of IP protocols; these skills must include: TCP/IP based services (i.e. DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, etc); IP addressing/subnetting and routing principles (i.e. RP. OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, etc); IPv6/IPSec protocols (SSL, TLS, SSH); network (LAN/WAN) design principles

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the configuration, installation, and maintenance of routers, network configurations, and deployment of network appliances as well as some end user components, such as multi-functional printers (MFPs).
  • Monitor system logs and status, storage space and network activity, then adjust network equipment and settings as needed.
  • Design, manage and maintain LAN and WAN group policies.
  • Support operational functions of managing and establishing new network connections to client network.
  • Supports the performance testing and analysis of network components including complex software, hardware, and transmission systems.
  • Participate in in-person and virtual meetings with internal and external clients to define requirements, discuss project progress, and resolve issues proactively or when discovered.
  • Analyze and revamp antiquated and inefficient processes to increase productivity, including recommending newer and more efficient technologies.
  • Support migrating users from legacy environments or systems to planned or newly established environments and systems, including the data and applications as applicable.
