Pleasants Paving is an Equal Opportunity Employer, always seeking qualified, energetic job candidates to join our team!Mechanis HelperJob Summary:Work involves responsibility for performing semiskilled tasks in the servicing, maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. Mechanics Helper usually assists a Heavy Equipment Mechanic on complex repair jobs. However, the employee is expected to perform routine daily tasks independently.Responsibilities:Perform repairs as well as preventative maintenance on construction and facility machinery.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic related failures. Makes repairs to achieve peak performance, production as well as safe operation of equipment and facility machinery.Complete daily maintenance, inspection records, work orders, safety and DOT paper work.Communicate with operators.Maintain and secure work tools.Clean and maintain work areaTurn off and lock out equipment during repairs.Provide tools to perform heavy mechanical repairs.Maintains records of preventive maintenance, repairs made, orders, and time worked.May maintain stock of high frequency repair parts and is responsible for ordering.Responsible for general upkeep, order and cleanliness of the maintenance service area.Insures that safe and proper procedures are utilized during activities in or around the maintenance service area.Qualifications:Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.High school diploma or equivalentManual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.Must possess the ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver s LicenseMust provide acceptable driving history.Environment:Working conditions are normal for a heavy equipment shop environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials over 50 pounds. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats/bump caps. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
