You can GROW with Us by becoming our Operations Manager - Material Recovery Facility (MRF) THE ROLE Oversees the operations department including management of Operations Manager(s) and the operations services function. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Manages operations of site consistent with established operating plans, local, state, and federal rules and regulations. Directs daily operations, maintenance operations (as applicable) and manages supervisory staff. Prepares work schedules and assigns specific duties. Makes certain employees assignments are allocated for efficient and effective operations. Monitors work to ensure safe, efficient, effective and compliant operations. Ensures all employees are properly trained and licensed (if applicable) to operate and/or maintain all equipment. Ensures policies, procedures, and collective bargaining agreement (as applicable) are followed. Utilizes production reporting and monitoring for optimum running of operations and to achieve productivity goals. Oversees employee discipline, and manages/mediates labor disputes, analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems. Identifies all potential rule infractions and implements corrective actions and/or processes to avoid future infractions. Submits information, as appropriate, to the General Manager. Maintains and generates operational records and submits reports as directed. Generates and analyzes operational reports and make recommendations as appropriate. Oversees the inspection of all working areas and equipment regularly to ensure adequate housekeeping and maintenance measures are in place and to identify opportunities for improving the safety of employees and the public. Suggests changes in equipment, technology, working conditions to increase productivity and efficiency. Manages all aspects of quality to meet customer specifications and quality requirements. Investigates and reports accidents, maintenance incidents and injuries to Safety Manager and handles/resolves any service related issues. Investigates and resolves customer inquiries and complaints not resolved by subordinates. Adjusts rate and billing disputes as necessary. Prepares or assists in preparing budgets and plans for equipment and staffing. May work directly with government/city staff on behalf of the company. Conducts tours ensuring quality presentation while ensuring a safe environment for the tour group. Represents the company in community activities. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Possession of a high school diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred. Management experience in an industrial, construction, manufacturing, recycling/waste management environment or related industry. Experience with managing collective bargaining agreements preferred. Valid Class B Commercial Drivers License required upon hire or within six months of hire. Supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting. Principles of personnel training, supervision, motivation, and evaluation. Supervising staff resource allocation, planning and budgeting. Detailed and varied procedures common to the industry. Technical knowledge of company services and processing equipment. Develop strategies to effectively manage current and future challenges and opportunities; develop recommendations and actionable plans.
