Job Description A Baker's Crust Artisan Kitchen Food Runner is an ambassador for our brand. Presentation and expedience are critical components of dining room service. The primary responsibility a Food Runner is to provide assistance to the Expeditor, Server and Bartender. A Baker's Crust Artisan Kitchen Food Runner must be perceptive to the timing of service, customer needs and team workload as well as greet and interact with guests. More specifically, a Baker's Crust Artisan Kitchen Food Runner: is the primary liaison between customers, wait staff and kitchen staff; is the final step in the Company's food quality control process and must have a discerning eye for food quality issues; abides by all state and federal regulations and adheres to restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated persons; abides by all Safety and Sanitation Guidelines; checks and maintains all service areas before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness (Performs all pre-shift and post-shift side work); follows the Baker's Crust Artisan Kitchen Service Standards; greets guests in a friendly and courteous manner and can answer guests' questions about specials, menu changes, and/or restaurant promotions; exhibits knowledge of Bakers Crust Artisan Kitchen food, wine, beer, liquor and non-alcoholic beverage menus; makes personalized menu recommendations based any guest-specific tastes and/or dietary restrictions; expedites, confirms and delivers orders to guests; gauges guest satisfaction throughout the meal service, courteously addresses any issues and escalates them to the manager on duty when necessary; is ready and willing to assist fellow servers, host/hostess, and server assistants as situations arise; and, is available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor. To be considered for this position, a candidate must: be 16 years of age or older; exhibit strong character (ie do the right thing even when no one is looking); display strong attention to detail; proactively address cleanliness issues including but not limited to table cleanliness; reliably identify and notify the team of any food quality issues; English communication skills (verbal and written); have a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor; display excellent customer service skills with strong ability to interact with guests; be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and carry food trays for prolonged periods of time; be able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
