The Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program, Mission Support Team Configuration Management (MST CM) is seeking a highly motivated Configuration Management Engineer to provide on-site Configuration Management and Asset Management engineering support for the JPSS Common Ground System (CGS) at the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) in Suitland, Maryland. This position is located at the NSOF, Suitland MD. The MST CM team is responsible for ensuring the Operational Baseline is under Configuration Control and changes are implemented through the proper Change Authority. Operational CM participates in the Operations and Support life cycle of operational products from delivery to deactivation. Operations Configuration Management provides for the orderly establishment, documentation, and maintenance of a product's functional, performance, and physical attributes, managing changes to those attributes, and furnishing accurate information essential to the product's use, reproduction, maintenance and re-procurement, and eventual disposal. Candidate must have knowledge and understanding of Government, Customer, and Raytheon Technologies configuration management practices and standards; must be able to work with minimal guidance and direction on managing and prioritizing their workload. Responsibilities: Provide CM support in managing, tracking and maintaining changes to JPSS Common Ground System (CGS) Baseline, Operational Products, and other data.Support existing CM Policies, Processes and Procedures and improve them in support of the mission and communing it to internal and external customers. Manage the Operational baseline and changes to the baseline via approved CM Processes. Manage the Operations Library (Software, Documents, OPS Products, COTS) including check-in and out and auditing. Conduct and manage periodic audits of the Configured Items (CI); verify and report CI status and attributes; update change records as-required via approved process. Analyze differences, verifying their existence and the accuracy of their attributes and relationships and updating records via approved process, if necessary.Manage the deployments of Software, Operational Products and Custom Software without impact to ongoing operations. Support in maintaining the ongoing continuous software deployment and integration system infrastructure. Work with Deployment Lead and follow the Deployment Description Steps (DDS) that conforms to CM Standards and procedures of the deployment.Support on managing internal and external baseline dependencies.Sustain the fully automated CI release processes for multiple environments using XML deployment scripting and support manual deployments. Assist in maintaining the operational environment for hardware and software product build, staging, and integration. Support implementing and maintaining hardware and software asset management system using IBM Tivoli Endpoint Tools.Create, and maintain Operational CM documentation in support of the mission. Knowledge of source code control management systems and configuration management tools. (Rational Synergy, Rational Change Management, ClearQuest).Maintain CM Tools and productivity aides.Collaborate other ad hoc Operational CM tasks with the rest of the MST CM Team members.Core work hours are between 9am to 5pm, however, some mission activities require flexible work schedule including being on-call during some off-hours, weekends, and possibly holidays depending on mission needs.Must be able to pass a National Agency Check background investigation to allow the successful candidate to obtain a USG Common Access Card (CAC). This may include a NOAA Tier 4 investigation.Occasional travel (5-10%) as required inside Continental United States. Required Experience, Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:Experience working in a technical environment interfacing with all engineering disciplines and able to work well in a team environment and actively assist or provide direction as needed.Experience with Microsoft office tools advanced features: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access or Oracle database experience.Highly organized, detail oriented and able to implement strict process for change control.Perform to the quality, schedule, and performance requirements of all tasks.Self-motivated, self-starter, ability to Multi-task.Must be a US citizen Desired Skills:Experience with Rational Synergy, IBM Tivoli Endpoint Manager Tools, XML, Python scripting.CMMI experience and knowledgeProficient in multiple operating systems.
