Overview of PositionThe Business Systems Analyst is a seasoned, experienced professional and will analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. Identifies gaps and provides technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications and scales new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost effective manner. Configures system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements. Designs details of automated systems. May provide consultation to users in the area of automated systems. May lead cross-functional linked teams to address business or systems issues. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?Conducts interviews to gather new requirements autonomously; employs facilitation techniques as needed to discuss requirements with clients and users; uses specific group and collaborative methods for collecting requirementsFor moderately complex requests/projects, leads or performs analysis of business and user needs, constructs requirements documentation, translates requirements into proper system requirement specifications, and reviews requirements and specifications with internal and external stakeholdersDefines quality attributes and/or develops basic test scenarios to support unit and functional testingCommunicate the business directives, goals and needs to the technical team and serve as business interface from the enterprise's operational management team managing expectations and defining business satisfaction metricsUnderstands legal aspects of information systems, ie HIPAA, SOX, PHI, Medicare Fraud, Waste, and AbuseApplies general industry and regulatory compliance knowledge to the benefit of the businessAs directed, the BSA will participate in an agile development team, ensuring features and functionality requested by users align with business goals for the product, particularly as goals and products evolve over time, as well as ensuring adequate information is available to the engineering teams, with the right amount of detail, and at the right timeConducts requirements peer reviews; evaluating clarity, conciseness, comprehensiveness, and appropriateness of specificationsRecognizes and identifies potential areas where existing business services policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed and makes recommendations in these areasGuides the design, development and documentation of system process workflows and various implementation activities that deliver business solutions required of the businessAssists the organization's business operations staff in developing content or other materialsRecognizes, manages, or fulfills urgent or escalated issuesWhat are the requirements needed for this position?Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in a technical and analytical, preferably healthcare with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.One to two years of project or team lead experienceExperience using SQL to query databasesExperience with EMR/EHR systemsExperience with the US Healthcare systemWhat other skills/experience would be helpful to have?Good understanding of writing user stories/acceptance criteria that meet INVEST criteria utilizing Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and the Gherkin MethodologyAbility to work effectively with resources in multiple locationsExperienced in Agile methods, processes, and toolsKnowledge of common SDLC phases, deliverables, and processesExperience in identifying requirements, conceptualizing solutions, and defining business process flows at a sufficient level of detail for developer implementationStrong written and oral communication skillsOutgoing and inquisitive personality who can work independentlyProven ability to be effective and adaptable in response to frequent change and ambiguityCSPO, CSM or PMP certificationDemonstrated ability to build strong working relationships across a large, cross-functional teamAbility to manage team dynamics without impacting project timelinesAbility to read C# would be helpfulTools: Jira, Confluence, VISIO (or other similar tool), wireframing tools (ie Balsamiq), PostmanWhat are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?
