Program Manager, Global Antitrust Institute

The George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School invites applications for a Program Manager for their Global Antitrust Institute. About the Institute:

The Global Antitrust Institute (GAI) was created to promote the application of sound economic analysis to competition enforcement around the world through training programs, competition advocacy, and research. The GAI offers 3-4 week-long legal and economic training programs per year for foreign judges and competition enforcers. The GAI also hosts 2-3 luncheon or daylong domestic programs per year. Through its Competition Advocacy Program (CAP), the GAI submits 8-12 comments per year to foreign competition enforcers on draft laws and guidelines. GAI professors also participate in 30+ speaking engagements per year at non-GAI events.

About the Position:

GAI's Program Manager will be responsible for helping to manage the GAI educational programs by working with the Director of Economic Education on the Economics Institute, Spring Conversation Series, Online Lecture Series, Antitrust Economics Institute, Distinguished Guest Scholars, Visiting Scholars/International Research Fellows Program, and other programs as needed. Working closely with the Director of Economic Education, and the Executive Director, the Program Manager will help manage, promote, recruit, and market the educational programs while managing the program registrations and databases, program reporting, keeping event timelines and task lists, helping with the maintenance of websites and creating marketing materials, and the preparation of event materials. The Program Manager will provide guidance and direction to the program assistant to make sure all program tasks will meet program deadlines. The Program Manager will also assist the events manager with event tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with GAI's Director of Economic Education to manage the Economics Institute, Spring Conversation Series, Online Lecture Series, Antitrust Economics Institute, Distinguished Guest Scholars, Visiting Scholars/International Research Fellows Program, and other programs as needed;
  • Provide guidance and direction to the program assistant to make sure all program task deadlines are met;
  • Help to manage, promote, recruit, and market the educational programs;
  • Manage the program databases, registration site, and client resource management;
  • Help with the maintenance of websites and creating marketing materials for educational programs;
  • Prepare program information as needed for reporting;
  • Prepare program-based reimbursement, honoraria, and expense requests.


Required Qualifications:

  • Master's and/or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree or experience);
  • Strong understanding of academic setting and educational programs;
  • Excellent organizational skills, proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities effectively, highly self-motivated, detail oriented, and accuracy driven;
  • Professional demeanor with strong and effective written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with high-level professionals;
  • Superior skills in Microsoft Office products, Cvent, as well as strong database experience, and Adobe InDesign;
  • Ability to work occasional weekends, evening programs, social events, and as well as travel independently if needed.
