About the Position:

The primary role of the Academic Administration Coordinator is to support senior administrative and student affairs staff with semester adjunct hiring and other academic administrative matters, and to support faculty committees with hiring, retention, promotion, and tenure matters, as well as faculty workshop programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the adjunct hiring process, including preparing adjunct faculty contracts and coordinating adjunct training sessions and the delivery of semester specific information;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for faculty administrative inquiries;
  • Coordinate with the university bookstore to ensure student course materials are available each semester;
  • Provide support for various faculty workshops, including supporting workshop presenters traveling to campus, circulating workshop information to faculty, and coordinating administrative aspects of workshop presentations;
  • Coordinate the annual faculty hiring process, including managing the Law School's participation in the annual AALS faculty hiring forum, preparing candidate materials for the faculty hiring committee, and coordinating on-campus visits for faculty candidates;
  • Oversee the faculty retention, promotion, and tenure (RPT) process, ensuring that university policies and timelines are met;
  • Manage the Law School classroom reservation process, including reviewing and approving internal and external requests for space and ensuring that reservations are made in accordance with university and Law School policies;
  • Assist with additional academic administrative matters as needed.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience;
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment;
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills (both orally and in writing);
  • Organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time;
  • Strong command of data management and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Law School or other educational setting;
  • Experience managing projects.
