Training Assistant, Organizational Development and Learning

The George Mason University, Organizational Development and Learning team is looking for an organized, detail oriented administrative assistant to support their team of trainers in the areas of customer service, logistics, scheduling support and materials preparation, as well as scheduling support for the Assistant Vice President for HR Strategy and Talent Management. Position Summary: The Training Assistant position will require general office experience including experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and managing multiple busy e-mail accounts. The incumbent must be able to multitask and prioritize daily activities and events and must demonstrate follow-up and attention to detail. Customer service and organizational skills as well as the ability to conduct self in a professional manner are a must. Someone who has had previous work experience in a human resources/payroll environment and/or university setting would be highly preferred for this role.

This will be a temporary position that will last until Nov/Dec 2021.

Responsibilities: * Scheduling and logistics, including managing multiple calendars, for trainings, events, and meetings; * Managing a high volume of incoming scheduling requests and prioritizing time sensitive scheduling with other responsibilities; * Working with administrative assistants and stakeholders from multiple departments; * Event/meeting set up via virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams; * Preparation of training materials; * Updating content in learning management system; * Responding to multiple e-mail inboxes.

Required Qualifications: * Experience with Microsoft Office and scheduling via Outlook/Office 365; * Knowledge and experience working with virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom; * Ability to demonstrate follow up and attention to detail; * Superior organizational, prioritizing and customer service skills; * Strong and clear communication skills; * Ability to work with a team and independently.

Preferred Qualifications: * Experience working with a learning management system; * Experience moderating virtual meetings/trainings, including managing back-end functions while someone else facilitates; * Administrative experience at an executive assistant level and/or scheduling/logistics for a group of people/events.
