Job Announcement

  • Answers the phone, and regularly checks and responds to voicemail messages.
  • Greets the public in a courteous, helpful and professional manner.
  • Appropriately assists and/or refers general public, defendants, clients, staff, and volunteers/interns to resources or locations.
  • Conveys information clearly and accurately through oral and written communications.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Enters defendants' data and calls court appointed counsel for availability in assigning cases in a timely manner.
  • Copies, compiles and disseminates case files efficiently.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of regulations, policies, and procedures in the areas of assigned responsibilities.
  • Is knowledgeable and follows established procedures in accessing and utilizing the Court's automated systems.
Note: The assigned functional areas of the position are general administrative support, customer service/public contact, criminal justice, and records management.

Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to high school graduation and one year of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:

Not applicable.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one year of experience providing administrative support.
  • Experience working in a court or legal environment, to include providing assistance to the general public who may have a criminal history background or mental health issues.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a front desk receptionist.
  • Experience answering multiple phone lines and assisting the public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, i.e., Word and Excel.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to the position must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job is generally sedentary in nature, however, visual acuity is required to read data on computer monitor; ability to operate keyboard driven equipment; may be required to lift up to 15 pounds. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
