As the Secretary to the Deputy Comptroller (DC) for Large Bank Supervision, you will serve as an administrative support staff member and assist the DC with the operation and coordination of all administrative and office functions.

Responsibilities

As the Secretary to the DC for the Large Bank Supervision, you will:
  • Maintain and exercise administrative control over an executive's calendar. Schedule appointments, meetings conferences and briefings using independent judgment and knowledge of the executive's goals, objectives and priorities.
  • Screen all calls, receive visitors, and coordinate extensive travel arrangements within the U.S. and abroad. Maintain tracking systems to plan, organize work, and provide follow-through for effective and efficient office management.
  • Serve as an office manager, ensuring efficiency in the administration of office policies, practices, and procedures, recommending changes as needed, and fostering a spirit of interdependent interaction through teamwork and mutual support.
  • Through communication and interpersonal relationships provide feedback on policies, programs, and projects to executive and staff members.
  • Compose correspondence of a general administrative nature for personal and executive's signature. Finalize a variety of narrative and statistical reports, letters, and memorandums.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:

You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-III band level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
  • Providing office management and support services to senior executives such as planning, organizing and managing administrative functions (e.g., preparing
    correspondence, documents and reports, scheduling meetings and coordinating travel).

OR

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: You must have one (1) full year of graduate education meets the requirements where it is directly related to the work of the position. One (1) year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent one (1) year of full-time study. If that information cannot be obtained from the school, eighteen (18) semester hours should be considered as satisfying the one (1) year of full-time study requirements.

OR

You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

AND

Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.

The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

  • Salary range includes 22.26% geographical pay.
