Education: Various scholarships and tuition reimbursementLOCATIONThis position is based at the Elsie & Marvin Dekelboum Building located at 6121 Montrose Road in Rockville, Maryland.OUR CONTROLLER POSITIONLooking for a skilled financial professional who will handle the day-to-day responsibilities, manage special projects, partner with the CFO as the department continues to enhance tools and processes, and coach/mentor direct reports. Needs to be able to work in, and contribute to, a team environment. Stratactical - able to see and understand the big picture as well as get into the weeds when required. Payroll experience preferred. Government and or long-term consulting background is not well suited for this role. Responsible for Hebrew Home (nursing home / long-term care). Some aspects - payroll, for example - are for the whole organization. This position reports to CFO. Direct reports include Manager Financial Reports and Analysis, Senior Payroll Administrator, and Senior Accountant. Also 2 indirect reports.Systems include Great Plains, Ceridian Dayforce, and PointClickCare, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the following primary functional areas: Hebrew Home (long term care) operating division; CESLC general ledger (maintenance, financial reports, analysis and consolidation); Resident Funds Management System; CESLC (whole organization) payroll and related tax reporting; Obligated Group debt compliance; Medicaid and Medicare cost reporting and analysis; CESLC self-insured risk analysis and reporting and CESLC annual insurance renewal. Develops, recommends, implements and directs accounting related operational policies, procedures and services, including: Preparation, review, analysis and communication of monthly financial statements, reports and analysis; Managing and coordinating the annual audit and budget processes; Tax reporting and periodic government informational surveys; Review and evaluation of internal controls and processes; Financial presentations to management, Boards and Committees; Line of business cost, rate and margin analysis for existing and proposed lines of business; Directing, coaching and verifying the activities of assigned staff to meet departmental and CESLC goals. EDUCATION & TRAINING Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 or more years of relevant management experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience also considered. CPA required; active status preferred. Experience managing payroll is required. Healthcare, consolidation, and public accounting experience preferred. Must be proficient in EXCEL and Word in a Windows environment and have a working knowledge of general ledger processing. Must have the ability to lead and inspire others, create a work environment that is conducive to productivity and goal attainment and possess strong analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, customer service and communication skills; be self-motivated and have a sound work ethic.THANKSThanks for your interest in joining CESLC and the team in our Finance Department! #LI-MB1
