ECS is seeking a Web Developer to work in our Washington, DC office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.Job Description: We are looking for a Web Developer to build and maintain functional web pages and applications. To be successful in this position, the developer shall be well versed in all current website technologies and languages, which include, but are not limited to, JavaScript, Hypertext Mark-up Language (HTML) and Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP).NET. Additionally, the developer shall have significant experience with responsive web technologies and interfaces to ensure that websites optimally render on both traditional computing hardware (eg desktop and laptop computers) as well as mobile devices (eg smartphones and tablets). What You Will Do:As a Web Developer focusing on large Web Applications and possibly Progressive Web Applications development, you will:Modernization of large-scale web applications.Deliver new applications that are intuitive and feel natural for users.Provide updates and maintenance for existing applications.Ensure software documentation is updatedLeverage your development experience to increased innovation and team velocity.Act as Technical Lead for Web development and technologies in defining requirements, development and maintenance projectsOversee junior/other web developers and evaluate their performanceWork in an Agile environment with a multi-dimensional team of developers, UX designers, PMs and testersRequired Skills:Ability to obtain the necessary security clearance required by passing a federal background check.Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience/education/training).3+ years in Web application development (both front-end and back-end)3+ years in Software - NodeJS, Azure, Redhat, Apache3+ years in Languages - Javascript, Typescript, SQL, PHP, HTML5, CSSExperience with one or more of the following frameworks: ReactJS, Redux, Maria DB, Symfony, Laravel3+ years in LAMP stack development3+ years' experience utilizing agile methodologies through all phases of software development lifecycles.Experience using GIT, using GIT repositories, and utilizing GIT best practicesExperience with Jira, Trello, Confluence and/or Bitbucket is a plusAbility to work and communicate effectively in a telework environmentAbility to write clean code and document your work effectivelyAbility to analyze requirements to produce a realistic level of effortAbility to design effective software architectures for large development projectsDoD experience is a plus but not requiredStrong interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to take direction and follow instructions.Ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines.Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skillsDesired Skills:Security + and knowledge of DoD transportation data and business practicesStrong understanding of test-driven development and test automationECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, veteran status or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
