About This JobA' The main purpose of this job is leading the development of and execute on the sales strategies for the organization for the Insurance Claims industry focus. A' Strategies will be built in conjunction with the overall goals of the Commercial Payments / Card Department to enhance Commerce Bank's profitability through building new relationships and enhancing current ones. A' Hire, lead and manage the activities of one or many Commercial Card Sales Teams which may have managers and individual contributors under their supervision. A' Number of employees can range from 2 to 10 focused solely in Insurance and insurance-related entities. A' This position is responsible for meeting annual commercial card sales and Net Contribution goals while maintaining profit margins established in the annual business plan for each product line. A' Direct and utilize strategic selling and business development processes while maintaining an acceptable level of return. A' Position will assist in the sale of large, key opportunities and help marshal internal resources needed for team to be successful. A' Sales effort is targeted primarily at mid to large market corporate entities, who may or may not be in the Bank's core markets with the primary contact being the CFO, Controller or Accounts Payable Director/Manager. A' A' Some leaders in this role may be focused on specific industry verticals like Insurance, Healthcare, Construction, Government, and others. A' Territory is continental United States, and candidates can be located remotely across the country.A' Essential FunctionsLeadership role in the bank's Blue Chip around Insurance Claims PaymentsResponsible for managing individuals or sales managers and executing on sales objectivesA' Responsible for hiring, training, coaching, supervision and ongoing development of the teamDevelop a performance culture where talent is challenged, and underperformance is addressedEnsure development plans are in place for all staff and actively executed.Clearly define goals for sales managers on their team (if applicable).A' Provide ongoing coaching by establishing 1-1 sessions and participating on prospect sales callsEnsure sales cohesion between teams as verticals and specialization can overlap separate teamsUtilize Insight360 automation tools and enforce the use of these tools with team members for pipelines, tracking and lead development and distributionDefine and implement specific campaigns and/or incentives that drive desired behavior/resultsMonitor sales team activity and performance ensuring profitabilityMaintain knowledge of competitor offerings and pricing including new trends and developments in the industryLead, mentor and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues, and provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's individual needsPerform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations and disciplinary action as requiredA' Communicate decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members effectivelySupport budget management, planning and expenditure Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesIndustry background should include expert understanding of the Insurance Claims processesCandidate should be well-networked in the Insurance industryFive years of sales management experience specific to the auto/claims industryKnowledge of Commercial AP and Card industry, including knowledge of best practicesStrong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problemsA' Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting sales metrics A' Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goalsOutstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writingCourage to make appropriate changes and implement new initiatives that deliver consistent sales results and accelerates revenue growthA' Understand the industry as it relates to the products and services implemented A' Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core ValuesIntermediate to Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Education and ExperienceBachelor's Degree or EquivalentPreferred Master's Degree or Equivalent in Business, Accounting, or FinanceFive years of sales management experienceFive years of specific commercial card, commercial lending, merchant bankcard or sales experience in the areas of sales, marketing and accountingTwo years of experience (ie, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Three years business to business sales or support experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent presentation skillsStrong organizational and interpersonal skillsProfessional demeanor and appearanceProven sales skills (Able to negotiate contracts with Fortune 500 Companies)A' Location: Address TBD, Washington, District of Columbia 20013Time Type:Full time
