The Consumer Lending Senior Loan Officer II is responsible for the timely and accurate decisions on consumer lending by validating loan data, examining documentation, identifying loan fraud, and mitigating risk products utilizing the Credit Union\u2019s lending guidelines. This role communicates lending guidelines and loan policy via multiple communication channels to members and branch staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality member/customer service by sincerely acknowledging the member\u2019s request and responding to all member inquiries promptly by telephone, fax, email and via the Internet, thereby exceeding their expectations
  • Work directly with the members processing loan applications by fax, and email through Online Banking or sent via the Internet. To provide professional service to members interviewing and counseling loan applicants, offering member\u2019s information on all types of loans, interest rates, collateral requirements, terms and all other products and services offered by the Credit Union and CUSO
  • Analyzes, evaluates and decisions loans as directed by NWFCU Lending policy. Submits loans that guidelines dictate to the appropriate next level. This requires a written explanation for the referral as well as full documentation and information to support the request
  • Cross-sells all products and services to include Payment Protection, Auto Warranty and GAP protection. Also attempts to capture loans from other financial institutions while processing loans for members
  • Communicate loan decisions to members
  • Prepare documents and review them with members to close the loan, Ensure loan is uploaded properly into core system
  • Reviews all of the information in the application and focus on the member\u2019s ability to repay the loan, the willingness to repay the loan, the member\u2019s existing assets and liabilities
  • Analyze the credit report and identified red flags, discrepancies and determine if collateral is sufficient
  • Knowledge of processing and closing procedures
  • Ability to manage a heavy pipeline of 60 plus loans. Strong written and verbal communications skills, teamwork and customer service skills. Self-motivated and highly organized. Ability to prioritize multiple competing tasks
  • Must be proficient with lending industry software and terminology
  • Knowledge of Debt Management Programs, to include KOFE
  • Verify quality and accuracy of loan documents. Ensures proper loan documents are being used
  • Remains cognizant of and adheres to NWFCU policies and procedures as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)


Qualifications

  • High school Diploma or equivalent, previous financial and service experience preferred
  • 5 years\u2019 experience in financial services industry performing various loan duties, experience in underwriting is required
  • Previous experience with LoansPQ, ePort credit reporting, NADA Guides, Auto Warranty and GAP programs preferred
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during heavy workload periods
