In this position, you will serve as a/an Supervisory IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC). Typical work assignments include:
  • Serve as Program Manager or Deputy Program Manager of the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program.
  • Managing cost, schedule and performance of the CDM program for all stakeholders, including CISA, DHS, Federal Civilian Executive agencies, Office of Management and Budget, and Congressional entities amongst others.
  • Leading and managing a talented, high performing team of cyber architecture specialists, deployment engineers, project managers, and test & evaluation specialists committed to diversity and inclusion.
  • Interpreting the IT security policy and program guidance for application within federal civilian agencies and departments for implementing effective risk management processes.
  • Monitoring information on current and emerging threats to IT resources and ensuring the program is in alignment to resolve shortfalls in system security features and practices.
  • Performing management oversight through program management directives to ensure efficiency and standardization within the Cyber Security IT program.
  • Managing appropriated funds in compliance with policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Office of the Controller and OMB.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GS-15 grade level (starting salary $144,128.00) if you possess information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies:
  • Attention to Detail: Evaluating information technology (IT) policy for changes in processes that may impact program execution.
  • Customer Service: Advising stakeholder on IT program requirement or operations.
  • Oral Communication: Communicating development/implementation strategies to stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Determining solutions necessary to solve IT operational issues.
  • In addition to the above requirement you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level performing the following duties:
  • Directing activities and critical functions of a cyber program to include the development of strategies and policies for the management of all cyber operations;
  • Identifying and assessing current and emerging threats to IT resources and ensuring the program is in alignment to resolve shortfalls in system security features and practices;
  • Recommending policies and procedures to test and evaluate IT methods, practices, and technology deployment to improve efficiency and effectiveness of program operations; and
  • Directing the work of IT subordinate staff (i.e. assigning work, developing performance standards, making authoritative decisions regarding personnel actions, etc.)

  • National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
