As a food runner, you will ensure each dish is delivered to the respective table while not leaving a single guest empty handed.Summary of Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:* Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift* Promptly greet guests as they are seated and offer still, sparkling or ice water* Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course* Clear tables after guests* Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area* Between seating's promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop.* Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed* Respond appropriately to guest requests. Communicate guest requests to server as needed.* Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.* Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.* Thank guests as they are leaving* Responsible for reporting all cash and credit card gratuities received to comply with the IRS standards of reporting income* Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisorRequirementsRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* At least one year of experience in F&B* Be 18 years of age.* Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, employees and all guests.* Have working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes* Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays.* Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.* Ability to model and act in accordance with The Indigo Road guiding principlesPhysical Requirements:* Constant standing/walking* Occasional stooping, kneeling or crawling* Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.* Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps* Constant computer/POS Register usage* Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing or rotation of the wrist(s) and spine* Constant reaching, turning, and performing precision work around the bar area* Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication* Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken wordDisclaimer: The above job description is not an exhaustive list of all of the duties and responsibilities of the position, nor should it be construed as a contract.
