Objective To originate, underwrite, negotiate and manage secured real estate financings for presentation to Credit Policy Committee in accordance with Firstrust's objectives and policies. Minority/Female/Disabled/Veteran Responsibilities/Duties The Relationship Manager (RM), is the focal point for managing Real Estate Finance's ("REF") client relationships. The RM is expected to have knowledge of: * Credit Analysis and Underwriting * Firstrust's Credit Policy * REF's Policies, Procedures and Documentation * Corporate Law and Regulation * General Real Estate Valuation Skills * General Computer Skills As Firstrust's primary contact with clients, the Relationship Manger is responsible for: * Sourcing, developing, and originating quality new REF clients for Firstrust Bank * Extending, originating, negotiating and recommending credits for approval * Rejecting credit requests when appropriate * Completing annual reviews and meeting with clients on a regular basis and be knowledgeable about their client's businesses and industries and pertinent personal circumstances to assist them in financial planning for the future * Coordinating calling efforts to ensure that clients are well served by all of the Bank's product offerings. * Recommending loan ratings annually and any subsequent upgrades or downgrades * Management of the loan portfolio and the administrative responsibilities for accounts assigned to them The Relationship Manager's primary focus is building a diversified portfolio of direct loans and participations in real estate financing transactions for private companies focused on ownership, development and the operation of real estate. The RM will coordinate with Legal Counsel, Loan Servicing, and Accounting Departments to assure that new loans are settled and serviced in accordance with loan approvals. In addition to responsibilities within REF the RM will assist in the development of new business referrals to other units of Firstrust Bank including mortgage, consumer, and commercial loans. Additionally, the RM will have the skills necessary to place permanent financing with existing Firstrust preferred providers. The RM is expected to become knowledgeable about all of the various products offered by Firstrust Bank and will actively promote those products to potential and existing clients when appropriate. Included here are core deposit growth, cash management services, Firstlease, small business referrals and consumer lending products. Essential Functions While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to drive a motor vehicle, move about construction sites, and ascend/descend stairs and or ladders 5 - 10% of the time to do inspections. The employee will be required to lift files/materials up to 20 pounds to take to various locations. The ability to utilize standard office including phone, computer, fax and copier are essential. DECISION MAKING: The Relationship Manager makes decisions pertaining to the operation and activities of their Commercial Real Estate portfolio in accordance with the Bank's objectives and policies. ACCOUNTABILITY: The Relationship Manager is accountable to ensure that all their loans and transactions are legal, prudent, and in accordance with the Bank's objectives and policies. The RM is also accountable for increasing loan volume and achieving acceptable yields, and meeting all audit and documentation requirements. Knowledge - Skills & Abilities The ideal candidate will have 7 -15 years of real estate and banking experience with local contacts in the Banking, Law, Accounting, and other industries supporting or related to real estate industry, and will be able to structure, negotiate and close in excess of $40,000,000 of Real Estate transactions per year.
