Washington College is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time Catering AttendantBar Tender. The Catering Attendant prepares and serves food at scheduled functions under the supervision of the Catering Director. This position is primarily responsible for set up, service, break down and cleanup of multiple functions or areas on campus. Essential Functions: * Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to the scheduled locations * Set buffet tables as well as food, beverage and service items * Ensure that all necessary food items have identifiers or menus and are displayed in a clean and consistent manner * Interact with guest and resolves customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner * Serve guests' food and beverage orders quickly, in proper portions, and in a courteous demeanor * Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items and explain to customers accurately * Break down events, for example, clean and pack unused food dishes, utensils and equipment for safe removal to appropriate locations; handle trash and waste properly per unit standards * Keep display equipment, buffets and tables clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned. Clean tables and chairs, as assigned, before, during, and after meal service Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred, but not required. Previous food service or restaurant experience highly preferred. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work long hours, while standing. Ability to multi-task and work well with others.
