Overview: The Alteryx Center of Excellence Strategic Pre-Sales Manager will work very closely with the Sr. Director, CoE and regional Sales Engineering Leaders and is responsible for managing a Global team of Sales Engineers. This leader will help to define and drive growth and enablement strategies across the organization and is responsible for recruitment, management, training, and development of the CoE Pre-Sales team. The Manager coordinates resource allocation and resolves resource conflicts. The Manager collects and organizes feedback about sales opportunities, product features, competition, processes and methodologies. This position has responsibility for keeping the CoE Pre-Sales team trained and motivated to perform and meet its goals. What you will do: * Build and coach a high performing team and ensure the team is structured for both proactive and reactive support to customers, partners, and prospects. * Drive customer success, pre-sales methodology and pre-sales success in support of customers and partners. * Provide strategic presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support as a player/coach. * Create strategic best practices and drive thought leadership for use among Sales Engineering teams. * Build relationships with partners to help drive global business. * Present Alteryx's technical value proposition to customers and partners. * Support and help staff Alteryx seminars and industry trade shows. * Develop and disseminate technical knowledge of Alteryx and associated technologies. * Participate in team-building and company-growth activities including strategy setting, sales training, marketing efforts, and customer care. * Keep abreast of competition, competitive issues, and products. What we are looking for: * Minimum 4 years of technical managerial sales experience at Alteryx, another software company or software solutions consulting, including both transactional sales and strategic selling. * Proficiency in SQL, Alteryx, Python, or similar product or language * 7+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer within the BI, analytics or data science space. * 2+ years of experience supporting Channel Partners, Strategic, and/or Technology Alliances * Proven collaborator and liaison with all levels and departments within an organization and across Alteryx * Experience managing remote/field employees * Strong customer-facing and relationship building skills. * Must be effective in working both independently and in a team setting. * Strong presentation and writing skills as well as the ability to present Alteryx's product and platform to executive audiences. * Experience with a broad set of industry technologies and services * Ability to travel up to 50% or as required * Bachelors Degree in engineering, computer science, or mathematics preferred.
