Summary

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is for the local commuting area. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

These positions are located within the Community Recreation Division.

There will be biweekly cutoffs, any eligible applicants will be referred to management at that time until the position(s) is filled.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Facility Aid in a Fitness Facility. Works under the direction of the Facility Manager. Serves as a Facility Aid in a Fitness Facility. Works under the direction of the Facility Manager.
  • Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
  • Assists with publicity of programs and events and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
  • Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation. Must possess the following within 6 months of employment: MWR Orientation Course, Customer Service.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, to include days, nights, weekends, split-shifts, and holidays as required.
  • This position is a FLEX position. FLEX positions can be worked anywhere between 0 - 40 hours per week. Hours are not guaranteed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Possesses related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability to perform the duties of position as indicated above.
