Summary

As an IT Specialist (Network/INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13, you will be part of the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist in the Network Infrastructure Branch (NIB) and serves as a Network Security engineer for the Agency's enterprise network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements, and maintains a Network Access Control (NAC) solution.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE) administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Supports Cisco NAC for Wireless and Wired Environments through PKI certificates, Active Directory, 802.1X, and other protocols, supporting BYOD, Guests (Web-auth) and Sponsor portals, profiling and posturing.
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots Cisco's iOS, Firewall, Firepower, routers, and switches (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, etc.)
  • Reviews plans for accuracy, completeness, and content, and ensures compliance with security and best practice requirements.
  • Works with Information Security and Systems Administration teams to ensure complete collaboration and transparency.
  • Develops high availability, resiliency, contingency and recovery efforts and plans to ensure continuous availability and accessibility of network, security, and infrastructure services.
  • Mentors, teaches, and trains OIT staff members on network design and architecture to ensure future requirements are planned for and met.
  • Develops recommendations that anticipate major impacts on IT systems and provides mitigation of adverse impacts. Develops systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures for the Agency's local and wide area networks services.

Qualifications

IT-related experience; experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. Experience must have demonstrated each of the four competencies listed below.

  • Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

  • For the GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes experience planning, designing, testing, installing, operating, and managing on premises and cloud networks, enterprise firewalls, network routers, switches, mobile devices and Cisco's Identity Service Engine (ISE).

    You must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
