Sr. Research Associate - Small Animal Technician Job Code: 2021 RD002 Job Description Immunomic Therapeutics, Inc. (ITI) is a privately held, clinical stage pre-IPO biotechnology company pioneering the development of vaccines through its investigational proprietary technology platform, UNiversal Intracellular Targeted Expression (UNITE), which is designed to utilize the body's natural biochemistry to develop vaccines that have the potential to generate broad immune responses. The UNITE platform has a robust history of applications in various therapeutic areas, including infectious diseases, oncology, allergies and autoimmune diseases. ITI is primarily focused on applying the UNITE platform to oncology, where it could potentially have broad applications, including targeting viral antigens, cancer antigens, neoantigens and producing antigen-derived antibodies as biologics. The Company has built a large pipeline from UNITE with four oncology programs, multiple animal health programs and a SARS-CoV-2 program to prevent and treat COVID-19. We are seeking an innovative and highly motivated Sr. Research Associate to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the R&D Scientists in important oncology research. The selected candidate will work closely with scientists andwork in a multidisciplinary environment in order to advance projects. Essential Functions Reporting to management or scientific level staff, the position requires broad laboratory experience in the areas of cellular and molecular biology. Requires detailed-orientation, hands-on approach, organization skills, team-orientation, enthusiastic attitude and adaptability to changing requirements with strong communication skills. Incumbent will possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Will perform in-life technical procedures (eg, handling, bleeds, shaving, body weight, dosing, body temperatures).Will also play a key role in animal husbandry such as vaccine delivery, bleeds, and breeding program. Administer test substances by various basic methods (eg, SC, IM, IP, IV). Perform or assist investigators to perform technical procedures, including but not limited to immunizations, bleeding of experimental animals and harvesting tissues or organs using aseptic techniques. Manage and observe animals for general health and overall wellbeing. Collect and record research data and biological specimens in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLPs), study protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Review documentation to ensure functions performed meet quality control requirements. Use GLPs, SOPs, processes and company policies when performing all job functions. Handle, restrain, and provide care for all species of laboratory animals at the site. Perform study preparation activities including collection tube labeling and room setup. Maintain clean work areas (eg: laboratory area, primary enclosures, and animal exam areas). Perform routine animal care as needed. Document, compile and analyze experimental data. Report data in oral and written reports. Maintain detailed laboratory notebook. May be responsible for laboratory supply inventory. Perform other duties as assigned. Exposure to chemicals used in a laboratory environment with proper Personal Protective Equipment This position operates in a professional laboratory and office work environment This role requires hands-on laboratory work employing aseptic technique, standard molecular and microbial process with limited exposure to inorganic and organic compounds This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
