Job Description

We are seeking an energetic, creative and visionary leader to become our Head of Talent Strategy and Development. This senior editor will partner with journalists and editors across the newsroom and The Post's business teams to elevate the voices of our journalists, helping our work reach new audiences and deepen loyalty among subscribers.

The Head of Talent Strategy and Development will be responsible for finding innovative ways to amplify the voices and personalities of our journalists. This person will craft personalized growth strategies; identify opportunities on emerging platforms; and coach and partner with journalists and editors to hone their signature style and connect their work with a broader audience. They will be responsible for creating features and products that showcase our journalists in myriad ways: video, podcasts, chats, social media, newsletters and events such as virtual forums, community gatherings or social audio conversations. This editor will also be a strong partner to our marketing and PR teams, helping to identify opportunities to deepen the relationships between our subscribers, our potential subscribers and our journalists.

This role will involve coordination across newsroom teams, so a collaborative spirit and experience managing successful cross-functional efforts are required. The ideal candidate must have a strong record of developing products that showcase journalists' unique style and approach while enhancing the organization's overall report, especially with work that has found and engaged new audiences. Strong competitive awareness and a knack for identifying, nurturing and developing talent is essential.

We have a strong internal candidate for this position but are interested in hearing from anyone interested in this or similar roles. This role will report to the Senior Director of Audience.
