Manager, Agile Program Delivery Lead

The Retail Bank Marketing team is looking for an organized and process-driven servant leader to drive efficient, coordinated and well-managed delivery of our go-to-market strategies across our performance marketing agile pods. The ideal candidate for this role will have prior experience applying modern practices of project management (agile, kanban and lean principles) to enable rapid, iterative development and deployment of omni-channel marketing and communications to our customers.

The Retail Bank Marketing team has been on a two-year journey of transformation into a digital-first, intelligent marketing function to unleash the business's growth potential. Our team is made up of business and data analysts, marketing strategists, marketing technology product and platform managers, data scientists, creatives, project managers and process managers-all working together to create the marketing experiences that will drive more and more customers to bank with Capital One.

Responsibilities:

Delivery:
  • Set overall program delivery timeline and manage Program & Sprint calendar
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with senior leadership and stakeholder audiences
  • Partners with marketing technology, Creative and Engineering teams to evolve roadmaps and update delivery plans
  • Identify, manage and drive dependencies across workstreams
  • Partner with marketing product owners and other responsible parties to ensure epics and stories are captured adequately and are aligned to roadmap level initiatives or use cases
  • Plan and facilitate collaborative, cross-functional meetings ranging from planning sessions with marketing technology and Creative, to retrospectives and scrum-of-scrums
  • Facilitate epic and story backlog creation, refinement, prioritization and capacity planning and ensure project teams are following good Agile practices to optimize delivery
  • Leverage various productivity tools to facilitate documentation and communication
  • Support issue risk identification, planning, mitigation, and escalation to project team and stakeholders as needed; support resolution of impediments and risks.
  • Serve as a knowledge and execution resource to the team for productivity tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Improve visibility into a holistic view of marketing activities for leaders and key stakeholders across the enterprise through different communications touch points.

Coaching:
  • Coach team to improve collaboration, productivity and overall team health
  • Integrate Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products
  • Coach marketing Product Owners and their teams on backlog refinement and prioritization
  • Utilize team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, team health, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and work with teams and their leaders to continuously improve
  • Lead a team of agile delivery leads: reinforce team purpose, define team goals, problem-solve impediments, mentor individuals and support associate development goals

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 3 years of experience with agile-based iterative delivery methodologies, including Scrum


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in serving as a Project Manager on engagements that delivered a Marketing or a Digital solution
  • Proficiency in creating epics, stories or tasks that are sized appropriately within a tool like Jira
  • Ability to set up and report on velocity, burn-down metrics
  • Able to balance multiple priorities and strong time management skills
  • Adaptable to with ever-changing business demands
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent Communication skills - written and oral
  • Excellent facilitation skills, able to collaborate, plan, execute and follow-up on meetings at the team and stakeholder levels
  • Moderate business analysis skills
  • Experience as a PM in a mid to large sized organization
