CAD Drafter (AutoCAD) Manassas, VA area Overview: USPRO is looking for a proven CAD Drafter to work with a defense client of ours in the Manassas, Virginia area. This individual will complete design layouts as required to document engineering and design decisions as well as provide a basis for completion of detail drawings. Employment type: Contract-to-Hire Duration: 6+ months Responsibilities: Assimilate the schematic, parts list, engineering concept, customer requirements and other data as required to plan a design layout. Design work requiring creative thinking, in addition to knowledge of basic engineering principles, design practices and manufacturing methods/procedures. Apply basic engineering principles and practices as well as manufacturing materials, methods and equipment to solve a wide variety of detail design problems. Complete design layouts as required to document engineering and design decisions as well as provide a basis for completion of detail drawings. Demonstrate mastery of CAD applications used for the generation of engineering documents. Provide technical assistance or instruction to lower level drafting personnel. Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with computer-aided drawing software. Prepare, review, and redraft alongside the facilities team to maintain drawing accuracy. Ensure final drawings are compliant with customer requirements. Qualifications: Associate s Degree in a technical field or its equivalent and at least six (6) years of technically related experience. Drafting degree or certificate from a vocational/technical school. Extensive AutoCAD, Visio, Excel, and MS Office suite experience and expertise. Prepare both rough sketches and detailed work with computer-aided drawing software. Prepare, review, and redraft alongside the facilities team to maintain drawing accuracy. Ensure final drawings are compliant with customer requirements. Identify and communicate potential problems and opportunities for improvement.
