Summary

This position is located in the Office of the Director, Office of Environmental Safety and Health in Washington, DC. This position leads and determines the strategic direction for the environmental, safety, occupational health, energy management, quality management documentation, and organizational development, workers' compensation, and drug free workplace programs.

Responsibilities

As a Safety and Occupational Health Manager, you will:
  • Be responsible for organizational development and quality management documentation program and project work in the areas of conduct, performance management, and other performance issues.
  • Be responsible for the development and implementation of United States Mint policies and
    programs and oversight of United States Mint facility programs which provide environmental, safety and occupational health, energy management, quality management documentation, and organizational development services.
  • Develop and direct state-of-the-art approaches for achieving a safe and healthful environment.
  • Direct studies or assessments of issues/problems involving the coordination of programs United States Mint-wide.
  • Provide advice and counsel to the Designated Agency Safety and Health Officer, Director and senior officials regarding environmental, safety, occupational health, and energy management considerations pertaining to all United States Mint missions.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.
    Specialized experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

    - Managing and providing technical expertise for a comprehensive safety, environmental hygiene and occupational health program.; AND
    - Establishing safety and occupational health policies and procedures.


    In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
    For the GS-14 you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
