Responsibilities

The incumbent of this position will report to the Chief of the Data Management & Governance Branch and will serve as a Management Analyst. This position requires the ability to communicate and interface with senior management officials and court personnel.

Specific duties of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Serving as a project manager for multiple data-related projects of varying priorities, which involves assembling task teams, assigning individual responsibilities, and developing project schedules to ensure project goals are accomplished within the prescribed quality, timeframe, and funding parameters
  • Assisting with the development, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise data governance framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive financial data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture;
  • Actively support data governance and stewardship meetings by producing agendas, meeting materials, and presentations, as well as documenting and distributing meeting minutes, and occasionally facilitating other meetings, such as financial forum subgroups, working groups and various focus groups;
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of data policies, processes, standards, artifacts, and capabilities needed to successfully execute a data-centric approach to managing and using financial data within the federal judiciary;
  • Supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of a financial enterprise data model, to include subject area models, conceptual, and logical data models;
  • Assisting with the development and delivery of a data governance awareness program, training sessions and associated training materials;
  • Actively supporting the creation, implementation, and maintenance of critical data management artifacts and capabilities such as a financial enterprise business glossary, data lineage, metadata, and master data management; and
  • Supporting the standardization of metadata within the financial enterprise data model, to include the documentation, review, and maintenance of business-driven data elements, definitions, and business rules.

  • If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.

  • Qualifications

    Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.

    Specialized Experience : Applicants must have one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of this position. Specialized experience is demonstrated hands-on expertise with managing multiple data-related projects of varying priorities and involving assembling task teams, assigning individual responsibilities, and developing project schedules to ensure project goals are accomplished within the prescribed quality and timeframe.
