Job Title: General Maintenance Worker Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a General Maintenance Worker (GMW) in Washington, DC. The GMW performs general maintenance and repairs of equipment and building functions for which he/she is qualified and to assist other classifications in the performance of trades work. Duties & Responsibilities: * General repair work and maintenance work. * Assist to accomplish many tasks encountered on a day-to-day basis that do not require the specialized knowledge of the rest of our technicians. * Complete Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) paperwork in a timely and professional manner. * Must complete an OSHA 10 General Safety and Health training class (supplied by EMCOR). * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * At least one (1) year of building maintenance experience. * CFC Universal Certification, a plus. * Ability to specify and order material and replacement parts. * Use a variety of power tools to perform job function. * Must be able to pass a background check including a drug test. Physical Demands The work requires the ability to lift and carry minimum of 50 lbs. to heavy items; to walk, climb stairs and able to work on ladders over 12 feet in length, bend and crouch, and to reach and pull to work on equipment; and to use hands, arms and legs in using the tools and materials of the trade.
