15 LOCATION OF POSITION Office of the Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division 200 St. Paul Place Baltimore, MD 21202 POSITION DUTIES The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for the position of Mediation Supervisor to assist in the administration of the Mediation Unit in the Consumer Protection Division. The Mediation Supervisor oversees the thorough and timely review and mediation of written consumer complaints received by the Consumer Protection Division ("CPD") and the prompt and accurate response to consumer inquiries made to CPD's Consumer Telephone and Email Assistance Hotlines. In carrying out these responsibilities, the Mediation Supervisor supervises a team of volunteers and interns, maintains his or her own caseload of particularly complex and/or sensitive cases and coordinates with Assistant Attorney Generals ("AAGs") and other CPD staff on complaints and issues that may be appropriate for enforcement action or education projects. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Experience: Three years experience in administrative or professional work. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in administrative staff or professional work on a year-for-year basis for the required education. 2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience. 3. Candidates may substitute US Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
