Engage with prospective students and families about Department of Nursing programs, the admissions process, requirements, and deadlines. Provide superior customer service as a department liaison to all external and internal stakeholders, which includes but, is not limited to, students, parents, faculty, high school administrators, community college partners, advisors, University Admissions, Academic Advising Center, Financial Aid, Office of the Registrar, and Bursar's Office. Provide oversight, education to faculty and staff, and timely updates regarding student advisement processes undergraduate and graduate programs. Educate and mentor staff and faculty advisers; provide individualized advising assistance. Carry a student advising workload, similar to that of faculty, for students across all Department of Nursing. Insure accuracy of academic requirements within PeopleSoft system. Generate and analyze (as appropriate) data reports (applicants, admissions, enrollments, grades, appeals, dismissals, etc.) for the Dean, Chairperson and faculty upon request. Assumes responsibility for content revisions in the University Catalog - takes the lead in making changes and ensuring accuracy of program information. Screen applicants, develop and present a database of nursing applicants for the Department of Nursing that allows faculty reviewers a confidential, accurate, fair and timely review process. Build and lead a team of professional staff members responsible for recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, course registration, progression, and graduation clearance of undergraduate nursing students. Supervise assigned staff providing guidance and mentoring in admission and advising protocols and retention. Provide daily oversight of staff advising operations and processes related to admissions and progression. Complete probationary and annual performance evaluations. Manage initial department process for student appeals ensuring the ethical and confidential nature of the process. Manage student progression and/or dismissal paperwork following appeals. Provide administrative support and oversight for the work of the Admissions and Continuance Committees, including the revision and posting of the Nursing Student Handbooks. Other duties as assigned that provide support to the overall workings of the Department of Nursing. This includes, but is not limited to, participating in undergraduate and graduate committees, and coordinating status of screened admission processes with the nursing department chairperson and other members of leadership team. Develops and presents a monthly report at Faculty Organization meetings addressing applications, admissions, advisement, and appeals for pre-nursing and nursing majors in undergraduate and graduate plans of study. Attends internal and external meetings as requested. Successful candidates will * Have a Bachelor's degree * Have at least three years of related work experience including experience in a supervisory role * Have a demonstrated knowledge and experience with program management and student advisement * Possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and be interested in and attentive to cross-cultural communication * Possess excellent customer service, collaboration and interpersonal skills * Be able to work independently, making decisions related to one's area of responsibility. * Have strong computer skills and experience with learning web and cloud based systems. * Have knowledge of nursing education and pathways to a nursing career. Preferred * Have prior experience working in collaboration with faculty in a higher ed environment#06022021
