Senior Associate- Balance Sheet Risk Oversight- Market & Liquidity Risk Oversight

Market and Liquidity Risk Oversight (MLRO) is the second line-of-defense risk unit providing independent oversight of Capital One's risk-taking units as they relate to market, liquidity and counterparty risk exposures. The Balance Sheet Risk Oversight (BSRO) team within MLRO provides effective challenge over the firm's Balance Sheet Risk in several key areas including Interest Rate, Liquidity, FTP, and Capital Risks. This role will be focused on Interest Rate Risk, but the associate will have exposure to all risk areas and cross-functional training will be encouraged.

We're seeking inventive, passionate associates with a diversity of perspectives. An associate in MLRO will have the opportunity to become well versed in key areas central to bank risk management. The associate's responsibilities will require analytical analysis and collaboration with partners across Capital One.

The responsibilities in this role will include, but are not limited to:

- Analyze and provide effective challenge on the interest rate risk sensitivities for the overall balance sheet and for individual portfolios (such as deposits or credit-card loans)

- Review the impact of key model changes and perform semi-annual assumption sensitivity analysis

- Maintain and update critical market risk policies and standards (Wdesk system)

- Manage interest rate risk controls and facilitate testing of these controls (Prime system)

- Support the existing governance and compliance framework

Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree or military experience

- At least 1 year of experience in risk management, or capital markets, or finance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Major or Minor in a quantitative discipline: finance, economics, business, or pursuing a related advanced degree or certification such as CFA or FRM

- Prior experience with QRM

- A demonstrated interest in financial management and capital markets

- Knowledge of QRM, PRIME, Wdesk systems

- Strong quantitative, analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills

- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
