CPMG is in search of a Senior Systems Administrator to work remote. Summary: Contract personnel shall be responsible for day-to-day onsite IT Security support for the development and enhancement of the Surface Transportation Board (STB) information security program. Essential Job Functions: Be responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the Board's server and system hardware and software Plan, implement and maintain system configuration and manage installation and integration of systems fixes, updates, and enhancements in accordance with established configuration management procedures Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media and locations Support the STB's efforts to migrate servers to AWS Support the Board's efforts to migrate workstations to Windows 10 Prepare technical specifications and documentation as necessary to support the Board's cybersecurity efforts Recommend technical standards and policies and solutions as needed Coordinate with technical personnel of vendors for troubleshooting, maintaining, and implementing software and hardware components in the STB's infrastructure Analyze system performance statistics and make changes to attain maximum system performance. Provide Tier 2 support for users when necessary Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Must be proficient with VMware and NetApps technologies or equivalent Must have at least two (2) years of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 experience Should understand fundamentals of networking Minimum Qualifications: Possess a current National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI) Investigation Must have at least two (2) years of Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 experience Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Pass an employer background check Possess excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Possess high moral and ethical standards Individual must be a self-starter, able to work without direction Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science (or related area) preferred
