If you are ready to change the world and protect the protectors, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) currently has an IMMEDIATE opportunity for a SENIOR INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER TO develop curriculum and coordinate instructor-led educational seminars, workshops and training programs which are delivered to affiliates, state and provincial associations, and at IAFF educational events and conferences. This is a non-exempt, full-time position (32.5-hour work week) with office assignment at the Headquarters of the International Association of Fire Fighters in Washington DC Starting salary is $83K rising to $99K within two years - SUPERB benefits including free comprehensive health insurance for employee and dependents, tuition reimbursement, 401k match, pension, and more. With headquarters in Washington, DC, and Ottawa, Ontario, the International Association of Fire Fighters represents more than 320,000 full-time professional fire fighters and single-role EMS practitioners in more than 3,500 local affiliates. Please note: The IAFF is unable to provide immigration sponsorship and the option to telework is not available for this position. We are currently transitioning from working fully remote over the past 15 months to be back in the office by the end of August 2021. Job Requirements:Responsibilities: A cents € cents Work with subject matter experts, develop, design, and coordinate educational modules A cents € cents Coordinate Partnership Education Program events with representatives from district, state and provincial associations A cents € cents Develop and maintain curricula related union skills and human relations for IAFF members A cents € cents Write and proofread departmental documents A cents € cents Develop content for online modules A cents € cents Organize, plan, and coordinate logistics for the annual Affiliate Leadership Training Summit and other education events, including coordination of internal IAFF staff presenters and IAFF instructors A cents € cents Plan, organize and implement training for instructors, including the annual Instructor Development Conference A cents € cents Perform other duties as required to support the department and its mission Skills & Qualifications: A cents € cents Advanced knowledge of curriculum design and development (instructor-led and online modules) A cents € cents Knowledge of diversity, inclusion and human relations issues across the career fire and EMS service, familiarity with Section 508 requirements A cents € cents Knowledge of the full ADDIE cycle for curriculum development A cents € cents Ability to learn and use relevant technical software, including proprietary and task-specific software A cents € cents Proficient in Microsoft Office, ADOBE InDesign, ADOBE Creative Cloud, ADOBE Captivate A cents € cents Excellent oral and written communication skills A cents € cents Excellent attention to detail A cents € cents Bachelor's Degree A cents € cents Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in adult education and/or curriculum development Physical Requirements: Work is performed in an office environment.
