Our client, a leading Health care Association, is seeking a talented Disaster Recovery Specialist. Our client is at the beginning stages of a multi-year roadmap to transition our applications to the cloud, more specifically AWS. IT is beginning a multi-year modernization of its large product portfolio into an API based digital platform while transitioning from on-premise to cloud services. They are looking for a Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our Core Infrastructure IT team as we make this transition. You will be responsible for planning and leading business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the IT team. You will develop an understanding of our current processes and procedures and map them to the cloud as well as ensure disaster recovery is considered during the planning and build of cloud architecture. How will you make an impact? Monitor all aspects of actual recovery plan implementation and efforts, including initial emergency response, recovery procedures and business resumption processes. Evaluate and maintain current business continuity and disaster recovery processes and procedures and make improvements when vital. Transition and, if needed, build new processes for AWS aligned with industry standards. Build relationships cross functionally with applications and cloud migrations teams. Advocate for the importance of disaster recovery plans during the transition to cloud. Collaborate with architecture teams to ensure disaster recovery processes are built into the new environment. Conduct risk assessment and business impact analyses to identify vulnerable areas within IT's critical functions. Define requirements for service providers to design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of stored data assets consistent with organization data retention policy. Lead projects or project steps of varying size and has accountability for ongoing activities related to projects. Conduct research on emerging products, protocols, and standards in support of contingency planning and business continuity, as well as services of third-party disaster recovery suppliers if applicable. Advise staff members on their responsibilities concerning business continuity procedures and emergency response. Measure and monitor customer (organization and relevant partners) satisfaction for business continuity and disaster recovery readiness. Interpret internal/external issues and recommends innovative solutions and/or best practices. Provide advanced analytical support to management team. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Information Technology-related field, or equivalent 8 years of relevant experience Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity on a large scale Experience with disaster recovery in AWS preferred Excellent facilitation, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Able to present ideas in user-friendly language Highly self-motivated and directed Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong customer focus Demonstrated success in a collaborative environment Able to effectively lead multiple projects and priorities to meet deadlines Proven ability to make sound and logical judgments #LI-DD #CB
