The duties/responsibilities of the position include all of the traditional items that fall under a Sous Chef s role, including but not limited to: Supporting the Executive Chef in overseeing and leading the entire back-of-house restaurant team. Training of new back-of-house employees with the Executive Chef Taking charge of the back-of-house team in the absence of the Executive Chef Working with the General Manager to provide ongoing training of the menu to the front of house. Monitoring and maintaining the highest culinary standards Manage food cost and labor targets Ensuring all aspects of service and kitchen operations are of the highest standards. Creating and maintaining a learning environment and guide professional development. Collaborating with the Executive Chef and James Beard Award-winning Chef Michael Schlow on menus Candidates must be able to lift 50 lbs, and we are an EOE.
