Description Job Description:The Leidos Defense Group has an immediate opening for a Windows Systems Engineer located at Ft. Belvoir, VA. The opportunity in located in a fast paced operations and development lab environment supporting a 24x7x365 Research and Development community. The candidate will provide hands-on Microsoft systems engineering and will be responsible for providing solutions for the Customers and Data Center. This effort will encompass requirements gathering, technical planning, system design, system implementation, system operation and customer support. The successful candidate will be expected to interact with the team, customers, Government COR and Government PM and will play a role in architectural and design decisions. Candidates must be able to articulate the impact of technical decisions to leadership, management and customers (including government and military personnel). Candidate will provide engineering expertise with a variety of operating systems, virtualization technologies, storage, and hyper-converged infrastructure and devices utilized by engineers and customers for access to the environment. Candidate should have hands on experience with COTs and GOTS software.Primary Responsibilities:Assist in the Implementation of solutions to support the Data Center and its customers.Installation, configuration and operations of Microsoft Systems.Installation, configuration and operations of applications to support the customer needs.Provide health monitoring of systems, storage and networking.Support the Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) review. Assist customers with issues involving aspects of the Data Center.Prepare and update documentation including work instructions, standard operating procedures, system As-Builts and training materials.Basic Qualifications:BS degree and 2+ years of prior relevant experience, will accept additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.Must have Security+ce (or equivalent) certification.Must have relevant vendor certification such as Microsoft Administrator or Microsoft Security Engineer, or applicable training. Installation, configuration and maintenance of Microsoft Server 2016 and ideally 2019. Experience maintaining security posture including patching, scanning, updating.
