Adventist HealthCare and CCPLab seeks to hire a Pathology Support Tech (PST) who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Pathology Support Technician you will:
• Provide administrative and/or technical support for the Pathology department to include customer service, document imaging and receptionist duties.
• Receive all incoming calls and direct to appropriate person, take supply orders and specimen pick up requests and update the will-call log.
• Fax patient reports to physicians/clients (receive confirmation from CoPath; record verbal confirmation from physician's office).
• Retrieve slides/blocks; send via interoffice mail, if requested.
• Scan lab request forms into Document Imaging system.
• Assign cases to Pathologists; Distribute slides to Pathologists.
• Perform quality checks on automatic report printouts, Cytology and Surgical Pathology Report runs.
• Accession cytology and surgical pathology cases into CoPath.
• Troubleshoot issues with specimens, lab requests, and tests ordered, including making phone calls and sending faxes to clients for resolution.
• Send out specimens for testing, fax reports to clients, document image results.
• View fax log for errors and re-send to client.
• Distribute interoffice mail and incoming faxes appropriately.

Qualifications include:
• Minimum of High School diploma required
• Administrative experience in a medical setting
• Pathology, Autopsy, or Gross Room experience in a lab and/or hospital setting
preferred

Work Schedule:
