Job Description This full-time position is located in Gibson Island, Maryland. Full-Time with benefits. Summary The Saute Line Cook is an integral and part of the food and beverage team who will cook and prepare food to the chef's specifications, set-up and work on multiple stations with necessary supplies, stock inventory, follow recipes and plating standards, and ensure food comes out simultaneously to customer request. The Saute Line Cook assist in a la carte and banquet food preparation and plating to provide an exceptional dining experience for members and their guests. This position will learn, grow, and train with our Executive Chef and highly skilled chefs. Job Qualifications & Requirements: Experience working as a Line Cook and/or Saute Cook for 3-4 years with the ability to demonstrate basic cooking skills and techniques such as understanding and following recipes, workflow of station, sauteing side dishes, searing and blackening all seafoods and meats and creating sauces. Safely operate basic commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, blenders, grills while using culinary tools to perform job, including various knives. Serve Safe Certificate required to properly maintain sanitation while other professional Certifications or formal cooking classes a plus. Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds and stand in position for long periods of time in busy, fast-paced kitchen environment. Multi-task in fast paced environment to organize station, effectively with all food and beverage service staff. Pass background check and drug test screening. Skills, Abilities, Competencies Food preparation, technical cooking, and plating skills Ability to be creative with food preparation, set-up, and displays Time management for meal preparation planning and maximizing food service efficiency Good communication skills with team to coordinate meal preparation and delivery to patrons Sincere passion about cooking and being of service to other Ability to teach culinary techniques to other staff Reliable and punctual attendance Proper uniform, grooming, and hygiene Compensation, Benefits, and Hours: Due to the nature of a Club hospitality environment, culinary staff may be required to work day time shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays. Flexibility with schedule is highly desirable. Full-time hourly position requires working 30-40 hours per week depending upon the season. During late spring, summer, and early fall seasons, the position is required to work up to 40/40 hours per week. During fall and winter months, a full-time status of 30 hours will be maintained.
