Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.

Westat has an immediate opening for a Study Director to join our team of technical assistance experts in our education practice. In this role you will advise our product developers and state clients on planning, implementation and continuous improvement efforts related to scaling evidence-based best practices with a focus on legal implications.

This role is remote eligible.

Job Responsibilities:
· Designing technical assistance projects with senior state education agency (SEA) leaders.
· Leading and/or supporting the implementation of TA projects with SEAs and their partner regional educational agencies (REAs), and local education agencies (LEAs).
· Building client capacity based on demonstrated needs and implementation of evidence-based practices.
· Managing multiple, complex project budgets and schedules.
· Managing staff, sub-contractors and partners to deliver on-time, high-quality products and services.
· Reviewing products and supporting clients regarding compliance with federal law.
· Identifying and mitigating risks in high-profile projects.
· Successfully collaborating with national, state and local partners to achieve project objectives.

Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Education with a minimum of 10 years' experience, including 4 years' experience in a leadership position in a state education agency.
· Experience with both special education and general education.
· Experience with fiscal and legislative issues.

Preferred Qualifications
· Knowledgeable about state and local public education systems.
· Extensive knowledge about evidence-based practices.
