If anything you just read hit a little too close to home, then you are the perfect candidate to join our Finance & Accounting team as our new Controller, reporting to the CFO. Ideally, you have experience overseeing the day-to-day operations of an accounting team at a fast-paced, growth-focused company. You have experience managing multiple direct reports and you excel at growing successful teams and providing professional development along the way. You must be comfortable leaving the "accounting bubble"A' as this role will require collaboration with members of other teams and a partnership with members of the management and executive teams. What You'll DoComplete ownership of the month-end close and financial statement reporting process, ensuring GAAP compliance and financial data integrityIdentify appropriate financial close metrics and KPIs in order to develop and implement strategies for process improvements and increased efficienciesPerform assessment of current systems, processes and control environment in order to make recommendations for optimizationsEnsure information systems are scalable and adequate for the volume and complexity of transactions as well as for analyzing financial dataUnderstand the full view of the financial statements and where ownership liesImplement new accounting standards and be the subject matter expert on evolving accounting guidance relevant to CompanyDevelop internal processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsEnsure compliance with all financial covenantsDemonstrate fluency and confidence in discussions of financial matters with executivesDevelop a month-end reporting package that provides a meaningful analysis on financial trends and transforms variance analyses into actionable insightsPartner with CFO to provide monthly data needed to maintain rolling forecastsPrimary point of contact and owner of annual external auditPrimary point of contact with outside tax providersOversee domestic and international tax complianceThere are no egos in accounting-- you are not above posting journal entries or reconciling an account if that's what's needed every once in a whileNeed to Have8+ years of accounting experience in either public accounting, private, or a combination of bothBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fieldMaintains the highest degree of financial integrity and ethical behaviorDemonstrated expansion of responsibilities and personnel managementExpertise in US GAAP interpretation and financial statement preparationHighly proficient with ExcelProficiency with standard accounting tools and platforms (Quickbooks, Netsuite, , etc)An attention to detail, high level of organization and ability to communicate clearly and conciselyNice to HaveCPAFinancially fluent in both SaaS and Unit EconomicsExperience with ERP migrationExperience with preparing Board-level materialsSMB and Enterprise (B2B) accounting and finance experience
