Our client is an Engineering firm in Columbia, MD. They are looking for a Resident Engineer to join their team.-Primary project contact and maintaining a strong client relationship-On-site inspection or oversight of all construction activities-Review daily inspection reports and maintain project records, diary, logs, and documentation of project progress.-Assist in the development of the construction contract packages, and prepare all packages for bidding, proposal evaluation, and award recommendations-Coordinate the work with all contractors, and be responsible for ensuring all project deliverables are in conformance with the technical specifications of the contract-Resolve design and field construction problems, attend progress meetings and reports on project status.-Review contractor requests for change, and when appropriate, assist in the preparation of contract change orders/modifications.-Communicate to the contractor construction techniques and changes where necessary to enhance job safety-Review contractor as-builts for compliance with contract documents-Participate in submittal, RFI, RFC, design submittal, claim reviews, and responses-Provide technical scope and justification for contract changes and complete other tasks as assigned.-Bachelor's Degree in construction management or engineering or related field-Active Professional Engineering License in Maryland-At least 10 years of experience as Construction Manager and/or Resident Engineer on municipal water, wastewater, and/or linear infrastructure construction projects-Must have knowledge of working in a government environment-Familiarity/ experience with AutoCAD-Software experience must include Primavera P6 or MS Project, Oracle Contract Management, E-Builder or Primavera Construction Management 14 or greater, and MS Office-Read/understand/interpret rebar, concrete, structural, pipe, electrical, and instrumentation shop drawings-Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.-Previous financial reporting and invoicing experienceJob Requirements:-Bachelor's Degree in construction management or engineering or related field-Active Professional Engineering License in Maryland-At least 10 years of experience as Construction Manager and/or Resident Engineer on municipal water, wastewater, and/or linear infrastructure construction projects-Must have knowledge of working in a government environment-Familiarity/ experience with AutoCAD-Software experience must include Primavera P6 or MS Project, Oracle Contract Management, E-Builder or Primavera Construction Management 14 or greater, and MS Office-Read/understand/interpret rebar, concrete, structural, pipe, electrical, and instrumentation shop drawings-Knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, and practices related to water/wastewater/stormwater.-Previous financial reporting and invoicing experience
