TAX SUPERVISOR - 85-100K DescriptionOur client is a growing regional business consulting, accounting, auditing, and tax firm with offices in Towson, Columbia, and Annapolis Maryland. They also developed a platform that supports career development, personal growth, and unique journeys.As a member of the Tax Department team, you will:Be empowered to work directly with clients and partners to provide a broad spectrum of tax and related consulting servicesParticipate in a unique client-based approach, providing access to primary client account activity as well as work on underlying entities, trusts, and individual tax returnsWork closely as needed with our Accounting and Auditing staff on client engagements that span both groupsBe valued as an individual, mentored as a future leader and recognized for your accomplishmentsHave the opportunity to work with a diverse client baseResponsibilities include:Prepare and/or review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, foundations, and corporations, with an emphasis on complex high net worth families and middle market operating businesses and real estateIdentify and research tax and compliance issues as needed using various tax research platformsWork closely with clients, senior staff and partners within our client-based approach to provide outstanding client service and to build client confidence in and trust for the firmServe as the Engagement Manager on specific client accounts, taking responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, final deliverable and billing and collectionsDevelop a detailed engagement work plan, including budgets and timeline for deliveryMonitor project status against the budget and communicate schedule adjustments to managementEffectively analyze client transactions and unusual situations with a level of complexity in incorporating the accounting effect of the transaction or situationRecognize and resolve potential and/or existing problems with appropriate research and consulting, if necessaryMaintain lines of communication with both staff and clients to address client concerns and identify opportunities to increase level and type of servicesTake responsibility for subordinates' activities and chargeability, including effective delegation of work to staffDevelop team processes and systems to improve the productivity and growth of the businessDevelop subordinates' technical and industry skills and encourage growthRequirements5+ years of public accounting experience with tax specializationBachelor's Degree in AccountingExperience with trusts and foundations a MUSTProSystems fx Tax, tax research software, and ProSystem fx EngagementCPA preferred; Masters in Taxation a plusProblem solving and analytical skillsSelf-motivated with excellent follow through on assigned dutiesBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Retirement Plan (401k & Profit Sharing)Life Insurance & Short and Long Term DisabilityPaid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Holidays)AFLAC Supplemental InsuranceTraining & DevelopmentTelecommute availableFree Food & SnacksWellness Resources
