Location: Jessup, MD Description: The Judge Group is currently seeking a Red Hat System Admin with an active secret clearance to support a large federal agency in Annapolis Junction, MD. For immediate consideration, please email your resume to rkissinger@.- Robbie KissingerThe RHEL administrator applies a specific knowledge of AIX/RHEL systems administration concepts, practices and procedures and is required to be available for on-call mission support.A' They are expected to work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of RHEL system administration activities with little to no direct supervision.A' The RHEL administrator must be a self-starter and be able to work under aggressive deadlines.A' The candidate possesses familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures.A' The ideal candidate can plan and execute tasks based on experience, judgment and independent research.A' The candidate reports to systems manager.The administrator applies a specific knowledge of system administration concepts, practices and procedures.A' They are expected to work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of system administration activities with little to no direct supervision.A' The administrator must be a self-starter and be able to work under aggressive deadlines.A' The candidate possesses familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures.A' The ideal candidate can plan and execute tasks based on experience, judgment, and independent research.A' The candidate reports to systems manager.The administrator has a strong understanding of troubleshooting and configuration of RHEL Linux servers, to include protocols and switching, best-practice configurations, connectivity, and networking concepts. Applies specific knowledge of RHEL systems administration concepts, practices and procedures and is required to be available for on-call mission support.A' They are expected to work on complex assignments and perform a wide range of RHEL system administration activities with little to no direct supervision.A' The administrator must be a self-starter and be able to work under aggressive deadlines.A' The candidate possesses familiarity with varied concepts, standard best business practices, and procedures.A' The ideal candidate can plan and execute tasks based on experience, judgment, and independent research.A' Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:A cents € cents Maintains a thorough and well-rounded knowledge of all Linux operating systems with Red Hat version expertise along with a solid understanding of the mechanisms required for distribution of new and upgraded software to ensure the client and customers always receive current versions of supported software as availableA' A cents € cents Writes Shell Scripts to automate repetitive tasks Manages user account information, including rights, security and systems groups (Linux, eDirectory)A' A cents € cents Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to optimize the Linux operating system environmentA cents € cents Manage, set-up, administer, support and troubleshoot Linux servers.A' A cents € cents Works with senior staff to recommend and design systems architecture and topology perspectives in building and supporting the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)A' A cents € cents Works closely with various IT groups including but not limited to project management, database administration, network and security teams, application teams assisting in the overall architectural designA' A cents € cents Defines and maintains server operations, processes and procedures; service and operational level agreements and reports compliance and server build requirements as needed Provide support and monitors performance and reporting, problem identification and resolutionA' A cents € cents Provide regular status reports, gather requirements and provide input into the infrastructure products that are bought or builtA' A cents € cents Maintains operating systems and associated infrastructure software Design and document SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for system administration activitiesA' A cents € cents Install and maintain Server OS and configuration using tools automated installation like Kickstart and Configuration Management tools like PuppetA' A cents € cents Respond to service calls remotely using laptop over secure VPNA cents € cents Provide root-cause analysis for recurring or critical problemsA cents € cents Security POAM resolutionBasic Qualifications:A cents € cents A 4-year degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.A cents € cents 7-10+ years of RHEL systems administration experience, or equivalent experienceA cents € cents Experience RHEL 6.5. or later, performance monitoring and tuning tools, installation options, problem determination and recovery, and AIX securityA cents € cents Experience with IBM Power architectures, X-series and Blade center server technology.A cents € cents Experience writing and debugging shell scripts in a standard UNIX shellA cents € cents This position supports an IT operations environment.A' The successful candidate should expect to support work on nights and weekends and will be required to be on-call 24X7X365 and respond in a timely manner Contact: rkissinger@ This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
